Leading Product + Design at Braintrust

As Director of Design at Braintrust, I oversaw two design teams with their own design managers, as well as user research, UX copywriting, product marketing and brand design. My teams led product design, strategy, and execution for all product and user experiences across the Braintrust platform. My first year at Braintrust was spent building up the design function, including a design-driven product process, teams of designers, our design system, product and design roadmap, user research function, and more, while dramatically improving and reimagining the product itself. The second year, I also led the vision, strategy, research, concept, and design of a new professional network product focused on meaningful career help and mentorship for job seekers on Braintrust. The product launched to the public within a year to impressive early metrics. Our WAU count rose 1000%, overall users to 300k+, and a significant increase in user satisfaction with our platform overall.

Created to audit and present the current state of design to my CEO, my report takes a look and makes recommendations for our design maturity model, processes, culture and more.

As product and design lead for an internal careers website, it was important to solve the site's biggest problem: helping people realize they're qualified to work a meaningful career in recruiting.

YOSS was a talent marketplace that connected freelancers and the companies who hire them. I helped YOSS shift to a flexible talent management platform by evaluating the product, researching the market, and developing a roadmap for both new product offerings and improved usability and user experience.

Without an official onboarding process for a 50+ person department, managers couldn't provide a consistently good experience for new hires. I set out to solve this with a small team and design thinking methodologies.
